Winter vacation 2024
Are you in Tromsø during the winter vacation? Then you should visit Polaria!
We have a lot of new and exciting things on the program from Saturday 24 February to Sunday 3 March.
Among other things, there will be a number of unique selfie sessions where we will talk about our seals and how we train them. We will also have underwater trainings where the audience can stand by the different glasses and in the tunnel to see the seal training from a whole new perspective. At some training sessions, the public will have the opportunity to participate in the harness training from the outside! Full program further down in the post.
We have also set up extra activities. "On the shore" takes place between 11 am and 12 noon on several days during the winter holidays. One of our skilled aquarium staff will be standing by the "In the Shore" tank at the very back of the aquarium, showing off starfish, crabs and sea urchins. You can ask questions, and it's even possible to touch and feel the various sea creatures.
Some days we will also have "Jellyfish mania" where one of our aquarium staff will show and tell about the jellyfish we have here at Polaria.
Rebus has become a classic here at Polaria during vacations and holidays. We have hidden several items around the aquarium. Ask for a rebus sheet at reception on arrival. When you have finished the rebus, you can hand it in at reception for a small participation prize. We will also draw one lucky winner of a family ticket to Polaria worth SEK 795.
Thursday and Sunday we have fish feeding in the aquarium at 14:30.
Our three panoramic films "Svalbard - Arctic Wilderness", "Nordlys" and "Behind the Scenes" are shown regularly throughout the day.
In our new interactive exhibitions, you can learn more about the animals of the Arctic and how all life is connected.
